Job Placement Q&A

Q: How does this work?

Great question! I’ll take a look at your resume and your preferences and steer you in the right direction to an awesome school, recruiter, or website I think would be a great fit!

Q: For some reason, it won’t let me submit my resume!

Make sure your resume is in .doc or .dox format. Otherwise, just send me an email at jobs@adventuresaroundasia.com

Q: Do you have jobs for non-native speakers?

In order to find a legal job in China, you must be from one of the following countries (USA, UK, Canada, Ireland, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand) OR have a teaching certification and 2 years experience.

If you have a teaching certification from your home country, I do have resources for you to find a legal job in China.

If you do not have a teaching certification I will be able to steer you in the right direction and help you find a job in China, you just won’t be working legally. If I don’t have any specific jobs for you at the moment, I can at least give you a few awesome websites that will have positions.

Q: Where do you find these jobs?

All of these jobs are positions that have been vetted by me. Either I worked at the company, I have a friend that works there, I know the recruiter personally, or I’ve spoken at length with the school and feel comfortable recommending it.

All of these schools meet my quality standards. They’re a reputable school or company that pays above average and offers great benefits.

That said, I can’t GUARANTEE the school will be absolutely perfect, because obviously, I’m not the boss. If you have an issue with a school I’ve recommended PLEASE contact me right away so I can A) stop sending people there and B) contact the school or recruiter to try and resolve the situation.

Q: Do I have to pay for this?

No! It’s totally free.

Some of these schools do offer me a small referral fee if you arrive in China and stay for a certain length of time. This fee is at absolutely no cost to you. I’m super picky about which schools I work with, and I would never send you to a school or recruiter I didn’t trust.

I’m not a professional recruiter, I merely want to help my incredible readers find quality jobs and avoid making the mistakes I made when I first came to China… AKA working on a factory-lined highway in the middle of nowhere where I was the only foreigner for miles, only making 5,000 RMB per month.
